Serious inquires please. This is currently my only expressionism work available. ➕➕I think It’s ok to desire material things and to look and feel beautiful or attractive. I remember the hype over Tommy Hilfiger being the same as the hype of Birkin bags. As black people, we’ve always compromised financial wealth in pursuit of outwardly presenting ourselves or appearing as if we have money. There is a lot of history and psychology around black history here but I wanted to draw attention to it without any judgement. Many times with my artwork, although it may apply to others in narrative, it’s always personal and applies to me as well. In this piece, I intentionally made the figure appear stitched, almost like raggedy Anne, or a hand-stitched doll. The most beautiful part of ourselves can only be seen through our intention and actions. I think we forget that sometimes so focused on what things look like on the outside. We can’t neglect the best parts of ourselves. Mind, Soul and Body.
